Into The Soil
03:55
|
|||
So gather up your arms if there be an all out war
Or dig your heals into the soil and search for something more
At the end of the horizon the answer may be clear
Search within yourself and fight off everything you fear
Here we are once again
Listen to me my friend
I've been standing here for an hour or two
You're watching me as I'm watching you
The air is as cold as the wind is old
Now your lips are as blue as the ocean
And the waves come crashing down at my feet
The world spins on an axis they say
The seasons are constant, and the sun will rise each day
Well be there an eclipse we may all find ourselves amidst
a revelation of sorts so they claim
So gather up your arms if there be an all out war
Or dig your heals into the soil and search for something more
At the end of the horizon the answer may be clear
Search within yourself and fight off everything you fear
Here we are once again
Listen to me my friend

What Happened!?
02:17
|
|||
What happened to my best friend John?
He was with me one moment, I turned around and he was gone.
What happened to my good friend Lou?
I turned away for just a second, looked back and he was cut in two.
I guess we should have listened to that witch up on that hill.
But we thought that she was crazy and said oh hell.
Oh my God I think Pam's possessed.
Her head keeps spinning round n' round, she's screaming satanic stuff.
Oh my God she's grabbing a knife.
I guess we'd better put her down before she tries to take a life.
Oh how I wish that witch had tried a little more to explain.
Because now I'm sitting here surrounded by my friends remains.

On Your Head
05:32
|
|||
As the rain clouds roll in
This is where our story begins
Rain falls like a bird who broke it's neck
The sun is obscured and the sky turns black
Whispers pour through the trees like fire
We learn everyone's darkest desires
Shut your mouth for a Goddamn minute
Listen closely and you will hear it
Lie Lie Lie
In your bed
Lie Lie Lie
On your head
Everyone looks so frightened
I have lost my mind again
I've been drinking
Help me friend, I have not been thinking
End this day already
We have had all that we can take
We got too carried away again
We soak up the problems but drown the solutions
Lie Lie Lie
In your bed
Lie Lie Lie
On your head
I thought once upon a time
That I knew a little about life
But it turns out I didn't know shit
And I won't hesitate to admit it
Truth is I still don't know
Truth is I'll never know
Maybe being wise is accepting the fact
That knowledge is something that's just manufactured

Men On The Ground
03:50
|
|||
Men on the ground exhale into the sky
We race across the surface of a wandering eye
We build ourselves up just to knock each other down
Well the ends justify the means they say
So we sail into a sea of hysterical disease
But it really doesn't matter anyway
You've got your hand to God and your ear to the ground
You listen for the voices but you don't hear a sound
We're a captivated audience watching a display
of a marvelous most elegant decay
We'll sing into the abyss songs that won't be missed
Some were never even hear in the first place
La da da da da la da da da
You listen for the voices but you don't hear a sound
We're a captivated audience watching a display
of a marvelous most elegant decay
We'll sing into the abyss songs that won't be missed
Some were never even hear in the first place
There are men touching clouds and men in the dirt
Now you tell me what it all is worth
The higher you climb the further you have to fall
We manipulate the soil shape the land with our back
Working till the sky above us is black
The high you climb the further you have to fall
So Men on the ground exhale into the sky
We race across the surface of a wandering eye
We build ourselves up just to knock each other down
Well the ends justify the means they say
So we sail into a sea of hysterical disease
But it really doesn't matter anyway

A Paper Face
03:33
|
|||
A paper face stares vacantly ahead
Without a care in the world, he doesn't care anymore
It is dreaming a thought, and it is thinking a dream
It is only an illusion to the eyes of the lonely
So when you're staring straight ahead
Wishing that you were dead
You had better think twice kid
You don't know where it all will end
In all your thoughts you start to drown
So you take one last look around
Until your eyelids fall down
And you sleep without a sound
Oh so still
Oh so still
Like a plant on a windowsill
You sit there and swill
Your television's broken the static's out of control
You had better turn it off real quick or it may swallow your soul
So go lie in your bed as though it was your tomb
Your pillow can be your headstone while your sheets devour you
A radio station scrambles signals in the air
I listen with all my might, but the words I cannot hear
I guess between the two antennas something must have interfered
Now just a torrent of confusion keeps rushing into my ears
Making it so hard to walk, I can't stay in a straight line
I either veer to the left, or over to the right
Now a small group of thoughts keep assaulting my mind
Are they right or are they wrong?
Am I right or am I wrong?
I'll just keep staring straight ahead
Keep staring straight ahead
We're unable to comprehend
What isn't grasped within our hands
Your television's broken the static's out of control
You had better turn it off real quick or it may swallow your soul
So go lie in your bed as though it was your tomb
Your pillow can be your headstone while your sheets devour you
I watch a paper face as it slowly starts to tear
Destroying all self-identity it's left unaware
Now I'll go lie in my bed, hoping that it is my tomb
With my abandoned thoughts I'll be completely consumed

Insomnia
03:27
|
|||
Before I knew what had happened it was night
The silence was so vast it put a chill into my spine
My eyes were wide, and I was filled with fright
Oh my! What a terrible sight!
Now every morning pushes on my chest
I fight as hard as I can just to grasp a breath
And the voices in the corner speak of death
They'll eat at me until I have nothing left
There are voices calling my telephone
I wanna say God-dammit just leave me alone
Their incessant pestering, stop beating this dead horse
Now I am at the helm of this ship
And it's changing course
Now every word you speak becomes a stone
And you'll keep filling your ship with rubble till you are alone
Now you're sinking to a watery tomb
And now you know its happened
You're doomed

Blood Red Lips
05:04
|
|||
Well I close my eyes and here we go
Into a garden of decay and pitch black snow
Where men are made of coal, but have luminescent soul
So you can see where they're coming from and where they're gonna go
And how madly the dogs are barking at the sky
Hoping it bleeds to the earth, so they won't have to die
And we'll fill our lungs with the breath of the sun
Until it boils our blood and we explode like a drum
Singing I don't wanna die
Just give me a little more time
Maybe a day or two just to get my affairs in order
Oh I...
Give me a kiss of those blood red lips I wanna drink from your mouth until there's nothing left.
